HDT BBB Bounce for SAM 1.5

   (3 reviews)

About This File

Add HDT butt, breast, and belly bounce physics to SAM's body mesh with this mod.

The bounce movement was kept clean and subtle, but there may be some distortion with certain body poses.  Due to the way the vertices were weighted, it's not recommended to scale the butt, breast, or belly bones.  Doing so will cause distortions in the mesh.  Use Samson/Samuel morphs instead.

An alternate version was created where the butt bounce encompasses the entire butt rather than just the lower half.  It's considered an experiment for now.

As of version 1.2, all the gaps in the wrists and neck have been fixed.  For completion sake, SAM's default underwear was weighted alongside the butt bounce, but there is a lot of clipping on the sides.  There won't be too much time spent on it since most players would opt for SAM's nude option anyway.

As of version 1.4, the default butt bounce has been removed and the alternate butt bounce version is now the default.

Requirements:

  • HDT-PE (classic Skyrim only) or HDT-SMP (SAM Light, SE only)
  • XPMSE or my modified SAM skeleton (info below)

Installation:

Follow the installer to simply the installation process.

The default version (formally known as "global") is recommended if you don't use any other HDT-PE mods, specifically ones that modify the global xml file (SKSE\Plugins\hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml).  Most armor mods should be fine.

If you use female body mods with HDT, they have their own physics settings and may not look right on the male body.  Use the "actor" version instead which forces SAM's body mesh to use its own xml file (meshes\actors\character\character assets\malebody_hdtPhysicsExtensions.xml).  The only drawback to this is that physics for the male body will only be active on a naked characer.  Other physics-enabled mods that don't use a custom xml will use the global xml by default.

If you don't want to use XPMSE for whatever reason, you can use my modified SAM skeleton instead.  I added the butt, breasts, and belly nodes to SAM's skeleton as well as the changes from Realistic Ragdolls and Force.

Any possibility SAM HDT gets collisions at some point?  HDT-SMP for SSE is pretty solid now.

The issue for me is finding a setup that works since a lot of the time, collisions are configured for interactions with the female body only.  The reason I added the "actor" version is because of this (female body being global default while everything else is an afterthought).  I'd rather not be part of this issue that plagues the modding community.  At the very least, I want to add collisions to the scrotum so it doesn't constantly clip through the penis during movement.

For some reason my game keeps crashing with this mod installed. I do have CBP Physics installed as well for a follower mod, but the crashing occurred even  before that. Any idea what could be the reason? I'm using the SSE version. Thank you in advance.

Make sure you install the included HDT skeleton for SAM if you're not using XPMSSE.  The game will crash if it can't find the extra bones on the installed skeleton.  SAM's original skeleton doesn't have these bones.

So I already had XPMSSE installed along with the  HDT parts, but apparently installing your skeleton regardless fixed the issue. Hopefully nothing bad will come from both being installed.

First of all I wanna thank you for this amazing mod, I'm using it with SAM High Poly Conversion and looks perfect 😎 After, I'd like to know if you guys have FloppySOS installed with the new HDT BBB 1.5 version, because I had to change back to version 1.4 because the scrotum bounce conflicted with FloppySOS, I tried to disable the balls bounce in FloppySOS even so they behaved a kinda weird. Does anyone have the same issue or I'm doing some mistake?

I don't use FloppySOS anymore.  There was a chance that adding scrotum bounce would conflict with it, but I figured FloppySOS had an option to limit the bounce to only the penis based on the last time I used it.  It's three different HDT-PE configs (penis only, scrotum only, penis + scrotum) that changes based on the options you pick in its MCM.  If the penis-only option has bones for the sctrotum listed, then it might conflict with my own config.  I can always add the config without scrotum bounce back in if there's no way around it.

I tried to disable all HDT-PE functionalities relate to the balls on FloppySOS and manually I changed my presets to disable then I tried all other presets too, but none of them didn't worked correctly. I'm using XPMSE 4.51 too, do you think it might conflict somehow? See my shots below, pic 1 I'm using HDT BBB newest version (balls got stuck) pic 2 I'm using earlier version 1.4 (works fine 😉) I don't know how to put these shots to spoiler mode, if I'm breaking some rule just let know and I'll delete them 😉

It's most likely defining the scrotum bones as static in the .xml which removes the bounce effect from my own .xml.  The fix is to remove those bones from FloppySOS's xml or HDT-BBB xml.  I'll add the old .xml back in the next update with the collisions from the curent version.  The only reason I removed it was due to the installer becoming more messy to maintain.  This was before I ended up rewriting it anyway.

So I have both the hdt-smp framework and physics installed, but as soon as I remove clothes in-game it crashes. Am I doing something wrong?

probably. but with just that information it would be hard to say what exactly.

do you have the skeleton installed as well?

Since SMP seems to be available for LE, I wonder if it would be difficult to get the SMP version of this working for it? One of the things I like the most about SE was the work you've done with the SMP physics and I find myself preferring it to HDT whenever I switch back to playing LE.

Is there a fix for it?

I suspect it involves tweaking the collisions with its achors.  In the current config, the bounce node moves close to the anchor node and causes the butt/breasts to be buried in the body when the anchor node is directly below the bounce node.  I haven't done much in the way of adjusting for this case since it tends to decrease the bounce overall.

Technically, it should work.  At first glance, the xml config for SMP-SE appears to be the same for SMP-LE.  The main reason people don't use SMP over PE is due to extra CPU usage.  I personally stopped using SMP for SE and am considering adding support for CBPC now that it has the framework to add custom bones for physics calculation.
