HDT BBB Bounce for SAM 1.5

   (4 reviews)

About This File

Add HDT butt, breast, and belly bounce physics to SAM's body mesh with this mod.

The bounce movement was kept clean and subtle, but there may be some distortion with certain body poses.  Due to the way the vertices were weighted, it's not recommended to scale the butt, breast, or belly bones.  Doing so will cause distortions in the mesh.  Use Samson/Samuel morphs instead.

An alternate version was created where the butt bounce encompasses the entire butt rather than just the lower half.  It's considered an experiment for now.

As of version 1.2, all the gaps in the wrists and neck have been fixed.  For completion sake, SAM's default underwear was weighted alongside the butt bounce, but there is a lot of clipping on the sides.  There won't be too much time spent on it since most players would opt for SAM's nude option anyway.

As of version 1.4, the default butt bounce has been removed and the alternate butt bounce version is now the default.

Requirements:

  • HDT-PE (classic Skyrim only) or HDT-SMP (SAM Light, SE only)
  • XPMSE or my modified SAM skeleton (info below)

Installation:

Follow the installer to simply the installation process.

The default version (formally known as "global") is recommended if you don't use any other HDT-PE mods, specifically ones that modify the global xml file (SKSE\Plugins\hdtPhysicsExtensionsDefaultBBP.xml).  Most armor mods should be fine.

If you use female body mods with HDT, they have their own physics settings and may not look right on the male body.  Use the "actor" version instead which forces SAM's body mesh to use its own xml file (meshes\actors\character\character assets\malebody_hdtPhysicsExtensions.xml).  The only drawback to this is that physics for the male body will only be active on a naked characer.  Other physics-enabled mods that don't use a custom xml will use the global xml by default.

If you don't want to use XPMSE for whatever reason, you can use my modified SAM skeleton instead.  I added the butt, breasts, and belly nodes to SAM's skeleton as well as the changes from Realistic Ragdolls and Force.

That's a known issue.  I'll have to manually adjust the weights to find a nice balance.  The HDT bones seem to want full control and if the weights are too low, there will be sharp edges.  On the female body, these edges tend to be where the body creases are.

I tested the 1.2 alternate version, and the hands + neck gaps are still there, I'm afraid.

Screenshots and configuration?  I've personally tested them and didn't see any noticeable mesh gaps.  There are 1 pixel gaps if you zoom up really close during motion, but they're inherited from SAM's original body mesh since I used its weights as the base.

I can't play now, but apparently I'm not the only one to have this issue. I tested with another computer with a better config and still have it. Maybe it's only an issue with the alternate version? When back I'll try to see what I can do.

there is a way to add physics to the lower body, like outter and inner thighs?

It's possible to put some weight on the thighs to have it move with the butt physics, but this might not look realistic.  I'll need to experiment with it later.

What program do you use to add weights to the SAM body?

By the way, thank you for taking the time to weight the underwear mesh as well.

I used 3DS Max to manually add weights to the body mesh and then tested them in-game until they look the way I wanted.

I am getting CTDs with the new version, I am also using Floppy SOS. I wonder if there is a conflict somewhere. I will try the alternate version and see if that does not play nicer with FS.

i use the latest version with fsos and don't have any issues, so if there's a conflict it might not be there.

How can you edit the way parts jiggle and by how much?

Those are defined and adjusted in the .xml file.  I used the "Just For Fun" program found in the HDT-PE files section on the Nexus to adjust it.

This mod needs to be installed after SAM since it replaces the male body meshes.  My modified skeleton or XPMSE will need to be installed afterwards also.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for adding this!  And for updating it for SAM-Light!  :)

It works wonderfully even though im not using HDT-SMP, because I dont want to signup for another site lol, and its not ready yet either.  What I am using is CBP Physics https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13207?tab=posts It was released to hold us over until there is a full release of HDT-SMP on the nexus.

whenever i crouch my butt flattens and everything is just messed up also nothing moves like it is supposed to (like the butt) but it applies to the belly chest butt etc. hat went wrong?

ps I already have the XP-32 Maximum Skeleton Extended so when installing i didn't choose the option for if you didn't also everything worked just fine until steam somehow had me reinstall skyrim, but in reality all it did was relocate already existing files not actually reinstall

The best thing to do would be to reinstall my mod to make sure it's not an issue with the HDT-PE body mesh/xml being missing or overwritten.
