About This File

High poly heads for all playable vanilla races based on the vanilla head meshes (male and female).  A simple name for a not-so-simple mod.  Available for both LE and SE.

Features

Installation

  • Use a mod manager to install the original .zip file and follow the install script for easy installation.  Do not manually extract anything.

Manual Installation

  • 00 - Base mod (required)
  • 01 - Loose files needed for FaceGen creation in the Creation Kit (optional)
  • 02 - no Dawnguard DLC (optional)
  • 03 - vampire head fix (optional)
  • 04 - remove sunken vampire face morphs (optional)
  • 05 - symmetrical eye sockets (female) (optional)
  • 06 - adds Aesthetic Elves (optional)
  • 07 - adds Expressive Facegen Morphs (optional)
  • 08 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Male edition (optional)
  • 09 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Female edition (optional)
  • 10 - adds high poly vanilla hair as optional replacers (optional)

Usage

  • For the player character
    • Use the Face Part slider in RaceMenu to switch to the high poly head.
    • If the head turns dark, change the player weight to force the skin shader to update.
    • Don't forget to also change the vanilla brows/beard/scars to the included high poly versions.
  • For NPC/follower mods
    • Add this mod as a master and then swap the vanilla head parts with the high poly version
    • Generate new FaceGen data (Ctrl + F4) in the Creation Kit.
    • This method does not work for sculpted head meshes.

Known Issues

  • minor clipping with certain vanilla hair meshes
  • eyes/scars appear darker than vanilla in SE.  can be fixed by changing player weight.
  • changing to vampire race will reset the high poly head back to vanilla
  • eye mesh may have flickering/rendering issue after switching to high poly head.  can be fixed by closing RaceMenu and opening it again.

Modder Resource (xEdit Scripts)

  • Skyrim - KL Filter Race.pas
    • Filters NPC records based on races supported.
  • Skyrim - KL Swap Headparts.pas
    • Swaps vanilla head part records for their high poly versions.
    • Custom head parts are not supported.
    • Requires High Poly Head.esm to be loaded into xEdit.
  • Skyrim - KL Copy NPC Protected Status.pas
    • Copies NPC Protected status found on all plugins currently loaded (eg. NPCs Protected Redux.esp)

Tools Used

Permissions

  • You may use this mod for your NPC/follower mods that will be shared with others.
    • For clarification, these NPC/follower mods may be uploaded to other sites.
  • You may add extra RaceMenu morphs.
  • You are not allowed to modify (in part or in whole) and claim it in its entirety as your own.
  • You are not allowed to reupload this mod to other sites.

These meshes are simply unbelievable, they make your character creation 100x better and easier right off the bat. My character that I'd started before look like someone had used a chisel on her poor chin haha, this fixed that and fast. 😁

I simply cannot play WITHOUT this mod (if it is a mod rather than the most beautiful thing ever for creators, artists, modders and gamers alike) As an artist myself I spend an insane amount of hours into my characters making them perfect, adjusting and tweaking every little face (and body) detail. I've always had issues with the human head in Skyrim, untill I found your mod, and I have to say.. THANK YOU for what you did for us and gave us this amazing tool/add-on for us to create the characters we've always wanted. This mod will never leave my load order.

That being said, I might be the only one but I only have one issue with this mod installed ~ (I run on 16 GB of ram, an i5 8600k and a Asus Vega 64 8GB OC) My game is stable af (while having a tone of mods installed, my load order and optimization is extremely well made with care ~ modding since 2016, I don't have crashes or other issues whatsoever).. so when I run the sculpt editor in my game (in racemenu) it lags and stutters A LOT, I simply struggle to make anything, and when I save the head sculpt (or preset) of my character and then load it at the same time Racemenu freezes no matter what (I am forced to save the game and exit, then load it back up to continue without forcing tasking manager my Skyrim). Now I know it might be only on my end, and besides this issue, I have the patience to make anything I want and I did after a lot of hours in there. That won't stop me from using this amazing mod (but wanted to let you know), again THANK YOU my friend for everything!

I have the newest RaceMenu but I do not have FacePart slider for the Beast Races... How can I switch?

Hello. this mod is pretty amazing.  Unfortunately, it seems as though i cannot use high poly head alongside 3BBB BHUNP body. is that not supposed to happen, or is it a problem on my end only? if so, how can i fix this!?!?    (For Exemple:  When i select high poly face part in racemenu, the breast can glitch out and the physics stops working properly).

Hi, this looks great and I'm sure I'll get it looking right, but I took an existing character I made and changed the face part to High Poly head and this was the result - I guess I need to do some work on my end to get the nose and mouth back to the right shape, but she seems to have some paint in her eye as well.

Somehow this mod cause my character body become white. Some other mod that I download are not compatible I guess. Nice mod tho. Now reinstall all over again. Can someone share their screenshot of mod they using543235702_Screenshot(36).thumb.png.4b8d2204dfbebf18637378b8cf0a663d.png?

Hi everyone

Thank Kouleifoh for this amazing mod. However I still dont know how to convert follower mod to this high poly head. For example I load this mod and Toccata follower mod into creation kit, replace Toccata head by high poly head. Her face look amazing on render screen of creation kit then I use ctrl F4 to export her facegen to original mod and save the mod with new change of head part and high poly head as master of Toccata mod. Somehow when I come back to game and I get black face of Toccata or potatoes face, never get the correct high poly head render of Creation Kit. (I use Mod Organizer 2)

Can anyone write some guides about it. My object is very simple, change all my favourite follower mods which head part can be swapped in CK to high poly head to make the game more beautiful.

Excellent addition to the High Poly body!! You just created what was missing. Even a Vanilla NPC now looks awesome! I use your method to convert my NPC and the xEdit scripts are helping a lot.

I do have a glitch though when I try to export from the CK a Khajiit or Argonian Head. I revewed the changes made by the script and they look correct in xEdit, I guess I'm missing a mod in the CK because I have the typical Red sign when I try to visualize it in the CK. The result is a black face in game.

Are there pre-requisites for non humanoid to load other than expessive face morphs?

Finallly after a fully modded quality Skyrim you can now have a character face blend in like it is supposed to be and have the looks of a finished modded revamped game. Thank you, thanks a lot!

I only have one issue with the enb and eye lashes, when you move the camera the eyes become light an the eye lashes do too (you then see a sharp edge of light near the lashes).
I use a ultra wide screen and I think ENB works worse on that so it might be something most of you won't even see this.

This mod is just an absolute blessing. Impressive total piece of fine art!

The last version (v1.3 on 07/30/20) allows even compatibility to Expressive Facegen Morphs... it's just crazy good.

Coupled with SAM/3BA, good skins, and so on... it's incedible.
Your work deserves to be EVEN more known. For every people involved in this, KouLeiFoh, Niroku, and every others that I'm not aware of : Kisses! Many mannnnnyyy kisses! :)

Truly awesome work! 

I thought I made pretty decent presets before, but OMG! This takes them to another level. Thanks so much for your hard work creating this for us, really appreciate it! 

I also found a helpful Youtube video showing you how to convert your existing presets that originally used the vanilla head mesh, over to use the high poly version instead. So credit to them for helping me move over some of my older presets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL9_MZWxbC4

I just love this head meshes.. Been using it for a short time , and thought very few Presets for it  ( Cause I am lazy to sculpt a face myself ) I manage to use one and make my personal changes for it ..

However there is a slight step back for me and my Mods installed , I use Wet Function Redux

And apparently the Wet function doesn't work with High Poly heads...At least that I know of .. If so and someone could share the Mod that makes it compatible please tell me ..

 

I will not change this Mod for another face so far cause its brilliant and flawless..so far no match for it ..

      I have finally finished all my Male NPC High Poly Head Overhauls.  There are 11 installments, consisting of around 400 male NPCs all using High Poly Head.  This baby is HUGE.   I have completed all the guilds, holds, cities, towns, villages, mines, inns, Sovngarde, etc.  Basically, almost all men with a name.  There are no bandits, guards, Forsworn, etc.  Basically, any generic male.
      There are four main files to choose from, all of which are FOMODs.  Choose from Loose Files in 4K or 1K (for those with lesser computers - you can't tell the difference that much), or BSA version in 4K or 1K (no loose files for space saving). 
      PLEASE CHOOSE ONLY ONE FILE
      I created these men using Tempered Skins, so they will look best with this skin, but they look pretty good with SAM Light and SAM Light Texture Add-On too.
      See Images to get an idea of what you're getting.  There are too many NPCs to post every picture.
      Some Important Things to Note:
      There are NO skin textures attached to this mod.  That means you will have to suffer atrocious vanilla skin textures if you download.  The good news is, it will accept any skin mod you wish to use.  Please be aware that your NPCs will look a bit different than mine using different skin textures. I also use Silent Horizons ENB and Cathedral Weathers, so your images may look different from mine. I am using High Poly Head Version 4 and it requires Expressive Facegen Morphs and Expressive Facial Animation Male.  Animations are not baked into the mod.  With that said, some have used this mod without them with no problems.  If you find beard clipping or weird eyes, install these mods.  If not, you should be fine. Please do not ask me to change appearances or remove tattoos, change hair, or ask me to remove NPCs.  I created them the way I wanted them and they stay as is. The BSA versions do NOT work with other NPC overhauls.  If you use multiple male NPC overhauls, please put this one at the bottom of your load order and overwrite.  If you do use other NPCs, the assets for them must be in the same order as the .esps.  NPC overhauls are safe to put at the bottom of your load order and is recommended you do so. If you use mods to change male NPC body shape/size, you could possibly end up with neck seams and floating heads.  It's been recently reported they work with HIMBO. Not all NPCs are young.  I have tried to retain the age of most of them.  No Elderly were reworked and the male orcs from the Orc holds were left off due to complications. Cicero was not overhauled (bummed).  Overhauls for him have to be created in LE then converted.  I don't have LE. Requirements:

      Hey, guys. Actually i released a conversion of this outfit a long time ago. But because of my inexperience, it has many problems. I found time to convert this armor completely these days. Now there is basically no problem with it. And I found an armor with a very similar shape when i skim loverslab, which is also about Egyptian pharaohs. I also modified it and changed the latter to silver. I want to convert ESL but there seems to be a problem with my xEdit that I can’t do that. The texture is already in the file I uploaded, so you don’t need the original mod. Please get the outfits with AddItemMenu.
