High Poly Head 1.4

   (47 reviews)

10 Screenshots

About This File

High poly heads for all playable vanilla races based on the vanilla head meshes (male and female).  A simple name for a not-so-simple mod.  Available for both LE and SE.

Features

  • smooth high poly male and female heads
  • complementary high poly brows, beards, scars, and hair to fit new head shape
  • includes morphs for RaceMenu's extended sliders
  • compatible with vanilla-based head textures
  • compatible with existing presets for the vanilla male/female head meshes (excluding sculpt data)

Requirements

  • RaceMenu (LE, SE)
  • Expressive Facegen Morphs (LE, SE) [optional]
  • Expressive Facial Animation Male Edition (LE, SE) [optional]
  • Expressive Facial Animation Female Edition (LE, SE) [optional]

Installation

  • Use a mod manager to install the original .zip file and follow the install script for easy installation.  Do not manually extract anything.

Manual Installation

  • 00 - Base mod (required)
  • 01 - Loose files needed for FaceGen creation in the Creation Kit (optional)
  • 02 - no Dawnguard DLC (optional)
  • 03 - vampire head fix (optional)
  • 04 - remove sunken vampire face morphs (optional)
  • 05 - symmetrical eye sockets (female) (optional)
  • 06 - adds Aesthetic Elves (optional)
  • 07 - adds Expressive Facegen Morphs (optional)
  • 08 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Male edition (optional)
  • 09 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Female edition (optional)
  • 10 - adds high poly vanilla hair as optional replacers (optional)

Usage

  • For the player character
    • Use the Face Part slider in RaceMenu to switch to the high poly head.
    • If the head turns dark, change the player weight to force the skin shader to update.
    • Don't forget to also change the vanilla brows/beard/scars to the included high poly versions.
  • For NPC/follower mods
    • Add this mod as a master and then swap the vanilla head parts with the high poly version
    • Generate new FaceGen data (Ctrl + F4) in the Creation Kit.
    • This method does not work for sculpted head meshes.

Known Issues

  • minor clipping with certain vanilla hair meshes
  • eyes/scars appear darker than vanilla in SE.  can be fixed by changing player weight.
  • changing to vampire race will reset the high poly head back to vanilla
  • eye mesh may have flickering/rendering issue after switching to high poly head.  can be fixed by closing RaceMenu and opening it again.

Modder Resource (xEdit Scripts)

  • Skyrim - KL Filter Race.pas
    • Filters NPC records based on races supported.
  • Skyrim - KL Swap Headparts.pas

@ILive66Failed  Aesthetic Elves morphs are included since they're entirely head morphs, but the original Expressive Facegen Morphs mod is required since they include eyes, mouth, and some beard morphs.  Due to permissions, I won't include files that aren't changed from the original mod.

@Teddy_M3  That could very well be how EFA was made (intentional or not).  I just simply converted them.

@rejrejiy  That could very well be a RaceMenu issue in conjunction with any number of things like invalid mesh, skeleton, etc.  All I can suggest is to test it out a nearly vanilla setup and slowly add your other mods until it crashes to figure out the exact issue.

Is there a way to keep eye color  that I selected as a vampire?,it reverts to brown when loading a save

Unfortunately, changes made as a vampire don't seem to persist when using the vampire fix.

I cant make the "No sunken vampire face" patch work. Any idea which register I should check to make sure the face is not being overwritten?

That option only works for the player and newly generated FaceGen for NPCs.  There's also the possibility that you're using an NPC overhaul mod that is overwriting files from this mod.

i have installed this mod and i love the look of the face and heads of all the npcs and i even like the high poly head for my character....if i wasn't role playing as myself and "old bald guy"

i could use this mod and not lose immersion because  i was unable to use any of the old man hairs due to clipping...........

can anyone tell me if there is any way you could make the old man hairs work........

i lose immersion when my hair is beneath my head skin....tried to learn how to fix the hair but i am dumb .....

can anyone make it so i can use this wonderful mod with my skyrim player character?

Hola darkmyndskyrim, Tenes que descargar solo la 1.4. Dependiendo de que version de Skyrim uses, descargas la LE para legendary o Se para la special. los Scripts no son necesarios.

Hey I love your mod a lot but I've been having this problem and idk how to fix it because I've tried every install option (on SE). When I try to make a female character have heterochromia eyes, it glitches and both eye sockets become broken and so do eyelashes. I tried using 1.3 and it still doesn't work, it does with 1.2 but that ruins my presets because I assume they require meshes and sliders from 1.3. I've tried using and not using the female eye symmetry and also I've disabled eye reflection mods and idk nothing is doing it. Do you have any idea or advice? ScreenShot18.thumb.png.3d86cb391f595f544f17ab103aa26d5a.png

Hey, this mod is amazing but I'm having some trouble with the KL - Swap Headparts xEdit script. Is it also supposed to work on the NPCs added by the three DLC's? The script seems to skip all NPCs that aren't already in the skyrim.esm plugin

EDIT: Nvm, for some reason the DLC records are not being copied into my patch

EDIT2: I'm fucking stupid

Hey, I don't know why as I've tried every fix and every maneuver but for some reason when my character turned into a vampire, racemenu no longer selected the high poly head as the default. Every time I open the game, reload a save, or even open my inventory my facepart in racemenu reverts back to vanilla in which I have to go back in and set it to the high poly vampire head. It's quite a bit of an issue as when it reverts back to vanilla face the eyebrows clip through, the scars look odd, the face gets sunken in and the chin looks oddly spikey.

Other than sacrosanct, a vampire eye texture, and a vampire lord texture I have no mods affecting the vampire race. Could the eye texture have something to due with it? I extremely doubt it.

EDIT: btw I've also tried curing vampirism and turning into one again, doesn't fix.

EDIT AGAIN (PROBLEM FIXED): any1 else with this problem, I removed my vampire eyes and fangs mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6842 and it fixed

Now all this needs are more sliders, lol. I have ECEE Sliders for Racemenu SE installed, which adds pretty much all the great ECE sliders Racemenu is missing, to Racemenu. But sadly they don't work with this HP head. I would love to be able to adjust eye width and nostril shape and stuff on this head, but I guess those sliders would have to be added as morphs by you, am I right?

@BrianShinn  Use the included high poly vanilla hair meshes.  That will fix the clipping issues on the high poly head mesh.

@bimbobuddhist  If you select Expressive Facegen Morphs in the installer, then you also need the original mod since it includes morphs for the eyes.  Also, if you're using eye mods that include their own meshes/morphs, they may not be compatible with Expressive Facegen Morphs.

@Oozaru85  Adding internal support for the ECE sliders won't be difficult, but the slider data for them need to exist for RaceMenu without permission issues.

Welp, the sliders got taken down from the Nexus because of permission issues. I contacted the author and asked them to kindly send me the mod, and they did. Thats how I got those ECEE sliders for Racemenu SE, lol. I don't know why Ran is so against people using those sliders in Racemenu. Especially since they haven't even ported them to ECE SE. So it doesn't look like they still support their own mod. So why not let us have them for Racemenu? Don't get it.

Anyway. Would it help if I just send you the mod via PM? It's probably too much to ask, but I'd really love to have them work with your HP head. If it's too much work to make it for one person only, then I totally understand of course.

@Oozaru85  The short answer is no.  I don't want to circumvent permission issues and have it available for only a select few.

Fair enough. Maybe you could add similar morphs to your HP head, made by yourself? Morphs/sliders that basically do the same thing as the ECE/ECEE sliders, but made from scratch by you? All I want is more customization options for eyes, nose and mouth. ;___;

sadly, your swap script gives this error

Spoiler

[00:00] Start: Applying script "Skyrim - KL Swap Headparts"
[00:00] Exception in unit UserScript line 775: Load order FileID [23] can not be mapped to file FileID for file "High Poly Patch for NPC Mods.esp"

I read elsewhere that the High Poly Head needs to be loaded before other masters, but I'm trying to patch Creation Club NPCs, and CC ESLs always load first. Any ideas?

@Oozaru85  No, I won't create morphs for sliders that aren't already available.  The one exception I made was adding internal support for the extra RaceMenu sliders added by the original EFM mod which added finer tuning to the eyes/nose/lips and overall face ( 83 sliders with 134 morphs).

@tate56Temporarily remove the ESL flag from your patch (and High Poly Head.esm if you added it) before running the script.  The load order detection code will fail otherwise.

@Kou Yep, just noticed EFM does pretty much exactly what I wanted. I totally missed them also adding new sliders to the game, lol. Thanks for reminding me.

Hello @ KouLeifoh  Nice mod! But I'm having some trouble with it , been troubleshooting for awhile now , my problem is when I turn into a vampire my eyes don't change to the vampire eyes I'm currently using( The eyes of beauty-vampire eyes) and from what I can see , I still have sunken cheeks but otherwise the face still mostly remains the same somewhat , I have 152 mods currently installed while trouble shooting the problem and the only vampire mods I have currently enabled are Better Vampires, Vampire Facial Reclamation and Cosmetic Vampire Overhaul in which I have tested these in my game(I still get the eyes not changing  problem even when these mods are disabled) and no other mods affecting vampires. I've have selected EFM (which I currently have installed),Expressive Animations ,Vampire Fix and the symmetry eye fix in the installer. I've fixed his problem before but I unfortunately don't remember what I did . Really looking for some help with this or a solution. if you can thank you! P.S sorry for the long explanation/comment

Neither my patch nor my High Poly Head.esm are esl flagged :( have you tried the script on Creation Club content yourself? I'm not sure if its just a problem on my end

Hello again @KouLeifoh ,  just fixed most of my problems myself with the exception of the eyes not changing when turning into a vampire (using eyes of beauty vampire  edition), still looking for some help or a solution to this, if you or  anyone has figured out how to do so, thank you.

Edit: Just fixed all my problems , thanks anyway if you were going to answer. Anyone having a problem with the eye not changing in high poly head here's a solution in the DL section: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47589

@tate56  It needs to be said, but make sure you're running the script on your patch, not the CC content.  It's the same method as patching vanilla NPCs.  You create an override patch of those NPCs and then run the script on that patch, not Skyrim.esm.  If it's the CC content itself that is causing load order issues, then temporarily remove the ESL flag from it.

@DreamZoned  I'm glad you were able to fix it before I even got around to it.

First of all i wanted to thank you for this mod, it really enhances my male characters look and i hope you feel proud of what you've achieved.

There is this glaring issue however where my characters has a super wrinkly face under certain lighting conditions, it makes his face look like a dried up prune, lol.  The only other mod that directly affects his face is "Pretty Faces" : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12134?tab=description

Are these two mods perhaps not compatible?  Is there an optional mod i forgot to install?  Or maybe it's because of my ENB preset?

I'll edit my post with a screenshot once i've taken one in-game, since a picture says more than a thousand words.

*Edit* Here's what i mean.

enb2021_6_3_21_52_38.thumb.jpg.e443dce3937984a4a74afc69118d08ac.jpgenb2021_6_3_21_54_34.thumb.jpg.4c45d44ccf220faf2324f5cf744ba7f9.jpg

*Edit*  Turns out the face texture mod has those wrinkles baked in and those get increased tenfold by the ENB preset i'm using.  Not sure which setting i need to tweak to get rid of the issue.

View File SAM Patch for Yiffy Age of Skyrim

This is a patch created for Yiffy Age of Skyrim so that it is compatible with SAM Light. Yiffy Age (YA) simply turns all human and mer races into furries with beast feet and beast schlongs. Each Skyrim race becomes its own unique animal species, but only the appearance of the races change (i.e., vanilla buffs remain the same).
Assets included in the Main File:
      - Meshes
All refitted meshes for male (human) dicks and sheaths/slits. Schlong of SAM HDT Patch (No need to download it separately!) Beast hand & foot meshes that scale with SAM body morphs. Animated tails that no longer gap at weight 0 and scale with the SAM body. Both male and female tails are now weight slidable! SAM Bodyslide files for those tails, in case you want to adjust the morphs, make them bigger, or move them around. Schlong of SAM "VP Regular" and "Muscular" meshes now correctly point at YA's Anthro textures. XML file from HDT-BBB (HDTSkinnedMeshConfigs\SAMBody.xml). Version included is "Default Bounce with collisions enabled". Updated SchlongsofSkyrim.dll Fixed briarhearts for SAM. Now includes meshes from Jamesalexian. A nude version is included. - Textures
Foxes: Textures are from  Yiffy Age: Better Bretons, but the YA foxes do not have the eyebrows, face tints, or many other extras that mod adds. Thus, the full version is recommended. Load it along with BB SAM Textures after the SAM Patch for YA if you plan to use it. Panther: New panther texture Khajiit: Modified poblivion's Better Khajiit Kygarra: Modified MONSTERaider's Leopard Khajiit Fixed Reachman head texture. No more backwards ear! Fixed seams on a number of textures, but more yet to do. Normals: All furry races use the same normals and speculars made for YA Better Bretons in the interest of making this as seamless as possible. Let us know if you'd like a patch that sets all races back to their original YA normals for all the hairy variety back (you probably don't care as much as we do about seams). SAM Digi
Contains both male and female meshes as well as the boot hider. Replaces YA Digi patch - use SAM Digi instead.
      SAM HDT Tails
Contains both male and female HDT tails as well as a brand new set of HDT Argonian tails.  Let us know how you like them!  Also contains SAM bodyslides for adjustment.  Female tails no longer jitter against BHUNP and shouldn't react too badly to SAM body in scenes. Replaces the YA HDT patch.

      SUGGESTED LOAD ORDER
An example load order for Mod Organizer 2 is shown below:

             0. USSEP, SKSE, Racemenu, etc. All of YA's requirements.
SAM High Poly (Mostly for the high-poly clothing refits) SAM Racemenu Morphs Schlong of SAM Yiffy Age Consolidated 04 YA SOS SE YA SAM Patch 2.1 YA SAM Digi/HDT Tails (optional downloads) Mods like Flawn's Argonians or Vale's "Masculine" textures YA patches that are not specifically for Better Bretons YA Better Bretons and BB SAM Textures (optional, but highly recommended) Patches for YA Better Bretons (USSEP is only required if you use YA Better Bretons). BHUNP, Matchmaker, and UIExtensions/AddItemMenu are optional, but highly recommended.

All HDT Tails, except Argonians, will get reset by RaceMenu and might not behave properly until the game is saved and reloaded. We are working on a version without this problem. Female tails will continue to gap at lower weights until I have time to adjust them. Argonian tails are a bit high strung and jittery, but if you know how to improve them we'd love to hear about it!

Since the esp overwrites the ArmorAddon for the tails it won't be compatible with other mods that change them - things like "Weight Slider Adjusted Argonian Tails" are now useless. Mods that overwrite these entries (e.g., Flawn's Argonians) might need a patch.

      Vector for SAM
KouLeifoh for SAM Light and HDT BBB Bounce
Don for Schlong of SAM Light (specifically the rigged body mesh)
Jamesalexian for meshes in Briarheart SAM Conversion
