High Poly Head 1.3

   (20 reviews)

10 Screenshots

About This File

High poly heads for all playable vanilla races based on the vanilla head meshes (male and female).  A simple name for a not-so-simple mod.  Available for both LE and SE.

Features

  • smooth high poly male and female heads
  • complementary high poly brows, beards, and scars to fit new head shape
  • includes morphs for RaceMenu's extended sliders
  • compatible with vanilla-based head textures
  • compatible with existing presets for the vanilla male/female head meshes (excluding sculpt data)

Requirements

  • RaceMenu (LE, SE)
  • Expressive Facegen Morphs (LE, SE) [optional]
  • Expressive Facial Animation Male Edition (LE, SE) [optional]
  • Expressive Facial Animation Female Edition (LE, SE) [optional]

Installation

  • Use a mod manager and follow the install script for easy installation.

Manual Installation

  • 00 - Base mod (required)
  • 01 - Loose files needed for FaceGen creation in the Creation Kit (optional)
  • 02 - no Dawnguard DLC (optional)
  • 03 - vampire head fix (optional)
  • 04 - remove sunken vampire face morphs (optional)
  • 05 - symmetrical eye sockets (female) (optional)
  • 06 - adds Aesthetic Elves (optional)
  • 07 - adds Expressive Facegen Morphs (optional)
  • 08 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Male edition (optional)
  • 09 - adds Expressive Facial Animation Female edition (optional)

Usage

  • For the player character, use the Face Part slider in RaceMenu to switch to the high poly head.  If the head turns dark, change the player weight to force the skin shader to update.  Don't forget to also change the vanilla brows/beard/scars to the included high poly versions.
  • For NPC/follower mods, add this mod as a master, swap the vanilla head parts with the high poly version, then generate new FaceGen data (Ctrl + F4) in the Creation Kit.

Known Issues

  • minor clipping with certain vanilla hair meshes
  • eyes/scars appear darker than vanilla in SE.  can be fixed by changing player weight.
  • changing to vampire race will reset the high poly head back to vanilla
  • eye mesh may have flickering/rendering issue after switching to high poly head.  can be fixed by closing RaceMenu and opening it again.

So, already having created my character and now in the game, i want to change the gender and everything of my character with "showracemenu" but the head stays as the same high poly male head and moving the "face part" does seem to change something but the same male head still stays on top. Is there some way to force disable the high poly male head or some other way to fix this?

@ddddddd  I've already answered that in a previous post.  You'll have to duplicate all records for high poly female head parts and switch them to male.

thnx. having trouble with the eyebrows though.

@Jallar4  It'll be included in the next release.  I'm just waiting for a particular mod to be updated first.

@d2dynamo  Try closing RaceMenu and opening it again.  That normally fixes any rendering issues.

@ddddddd  The high poly eyebrows records will need to be duplicated as well.

Hi, is there an EEO patch for this? One of my friends mentioned that there might be one, but I can't seem to find it if there is one!

@kerrschtein  I made a patch for Aesthetic Elves, not EEO.  A partial patch can be done, but EEO also includes FaceGen data for what I assume to be all elven NPC's in the game.

@smokeybear187  I've already started working on a patch for it, but it'll take awhile since I'm still trying to get back into the ebb and flow of modding.

An eeo patch would be wonderful, I'd really appreciate it! It's a pain to manually port all of my elves heads, so anything would help! It would only need to be player heads, not any of the EEO npcs!

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/102796  Expressive Facegen Morphs has been updated with male support finally, I hope we can see a patch someday. Thanks for this great mod, its been a massive improvement to my game.

Thanks for saying that, now I know which mod to disable. It was causing my character's faces to get rounder!

I too would be interested in an ethereal elven overhaul patch;

would re generating facegen data with both mods activated be enough to achieve full compatibility? in an ideal world the npcs would also benefit from higher poly and changes made from eeo (thank you for this great mod btw :) )

Thank you for this mod. Pictures and description doesn't do it justice. One has to see it in his game to really appretiate it.

@whatever246  The basic idea is to have EEO patched/upgraded to high poly, and then use the CK to generate new FaceGen for all the elven NPC's that are using EEO.

Use a mod manager to install.  Don't extract anything unless you plan on doing manual installation.

Guess it's time to give up hope on an ECE version of any High Poly Head mod out there. Sadly, Racemenu hasn't been updated to use ECE sliders (especially the body sliders) yet, either. Oh well...

Yes, but not the body sliders, which are the most important part of ECE. Why Racemenu still doesn't have them is beyond me.

You can easily use janky sliders which is basically on par with ECE body sliders.  All you have to do is convert the esp to 44 and just use it as normal with racemenu if you are using SSE.  For Oldrim just install it and racemenu and you are good to go.

How did I miss this mod? Probably, because I use ECE, lol. Will give it a go. Thanks!

Hell yeah, the expressive fagegen morphs patch is here. Great work!

EFM already contains fixes for sunken cheeks with vampires so I was wondering when installing whether I should use the no sunken features optional or not?

I love the updates, but every new release breaks the the mouth mesh of my argonian preset, and i have to redo the head part again.

Made with love for my (and probably almost everyone's) husband, Kaidan; a masterpiece by livtempleton.
Since he refused to wear any other armor but his own armor, I was like, no honey, we're the thong team. You're wearing one if you wanna get up in this GIG.
You need to have Kaidan 2 installed to use my redux.
No textures attach, just the meshes.
BodySlide files included if you feel like messing around but no pants toggle because I was too lazy to. Might make it if enough people request it lol
I threw-in a quick-and-dirty good 'ol SAM-compatible refit for his default pants. If you're using any texture packs, it will cause seam because the body texture is set on the her ESP to use her texture (like for when he's bloody and stuff when you first found him). I mean, you could remove that reference if you want it to use your texture, but I didn't coz I rarely let him wear that pants and I'm not too fond of including an ESP unless I really need to haha.
      Installation :
Install normally with your preferred mod manager. I personally use MO2.
      Permission :
Permission was granted by livtempleton herself to play around with her mesh.
If anyone wanted to convert, derive, modify; all I ask is that you share it with other people here also for everyone's benefit 😃
      Conversion to LE :
Now, I have no idea if LE Kaidan has the same folder structure with SE Kaidan (why would it be different, I don't know, I'm 80% sure it's the same), but here's the link for LE Kaidan if you want to give that a shot. I can't offer support for LE further than this since I no longer have it installed, but the general procedure below should be the same. If it didn't work you might want to check the folder structure inside its BSA and match my mod to that.

A set of Vanilla clothing replacer, covering all basegame Clothing...except for Nocturnal's since no man wear them (or will they? 😉)
They will use whatever texture packs you have installed as they don't come with any at all.
I won't bother listing them all since vanilla naming system is just like..."Fine Clothes", or "Clothes" (Unless you use mod to name them), heck I'd rather not confuse people. Refer to the screenshots, you probably could tell which is which. Basically, I should've covered every single clothes in vanilla basegame. DLC stuffs coming soon!
Take a moment to check out the BodySlide files, since some of them has tick-able options for pants/thong/butt--capes. Which outfits gets pants and which gets thong is purely my personal preferences (or if @Darnexx requested it haha).
I've had @InoOnew88's help throughout this tedious process. He offered tons of input, tested each outfits, and even provides screenshots as well.
