About This File

This is a modified version of SAM that removes dependencies on scripts and .esp to allow the genitals to show when fully nude by resizing and placing the genital texture on the body texture layout.  As a result, body morphs are not supported.  It's a basic body replacer along the same lines as Better Males and SOS Light.  Compatible with classic Skyrim and Special Edition.

This mod is not an official release of SAM.  Therefore, if you encounter any issues with it, please do not contact Vector about them.

Difference between full SAM

  • Lightweight due to no scripts or .esp used
  • No body morphs*
  • No dynamic body type and genital adjustments
  • No dynamic body texture options
  • Revealing armor with "SAMRevealing" node not supported
  • Werewolf and Vampire Lord not supported

*morph functionality can be added with SAM Morphs for RaceMenu

Installation

If using a mod manager, just follow the installer.

Manual installation

  • 00 and 01 are required for core functionality.
  • 02 Genital Option - Select between Cut, Uncut, or Underwear (non-nude) version
  • 03 Human Body Texture - Select one body texture for human races
  • 04 Khajiit Body Texture - Select one body texture for Khajiit race

Custom Textures

If you'd like to use your own body textures, use the layout template to resize and align the genital correctly.
Base texture 2k, resize genital texture to 256x256
Base texture 4k, resize genital texture to 512x512
Align genital texture in the green box, create selection mask with the green color, and delete the selection.

Due to genital texture resizing, minor texture seams may be visible.

Regarding Refits

Armor refits are not required for basic functionality.  They're only needed if you use SAM Morphs for RaceMenu and want the morph features.

You'll have to use Nifskope to manually add them.  Just copy and paste the NiTrishape.  Then change the Body Part slot from 52 to 32.

That's how I did it too, worked perfectly.

Thank you, success, but why Hair flicker?
I use HDT BBB Bounce for SAM SE .02.thumb.jPG.62757aa0dbd9755b84d1006b4822d941.jPG

Right, have another way to fix this problem, copy MaleBody_1_msn.dds and malehead_msn.dds to Maleold folder.Create one if not existent. But older male will look younger than former.

If you wish to try alternative to maleold textures,

saml_elder_normal_v2_cmo.7z

Credit should be given to Kou and MocChaoticran (It's actually adaptation of CMO's maleold normal maps to SAM light).

It is closer to SAM original than BM-Sundracon one, so it would harmonize better,  I hope.

Alternatively, you can try an appendix of Skysight Skins Normal MAP for SAM Light.

It's a tricky thing.  SAM uses a modified face normal map for Elder race that blends into the standard male body.  Its scripts will swap out the Elder body normal map for the standard one.  Since SAM Light doesn't use scripts, the solution is to either replicate what SAM does by simply using the standard body normal map to replace the one for Elder race (making them have a young body) or add genital textures to the original Elder textures.  I removed the Elder head texture from the recent update and plan to add modified vanilla textures to keep it faithful to what the vanilla Elder race should look like.

I suppose that Old People 'race' just have separate normal maps (malehead_msn.dds; malebody_1_msn.dds; malehands_1_msn.dds) by Textureset SkinHeadMaleOld [TXST: 067CDC], SkinHandMaleOld [TXST: 067CDF], and SkinBodyMaleOld [TXST: 067CD9] in maleold folder. The problem is rather the fact that no mod author seems to pay attention to the possibility of this separate malehands_1_msn.dds while we have to match these three normal maps, I assume. Once we have a separate set of these three that are compatible with SAM -light meshes, all we have to do is just to bake genital into malebody_1_msn.dds. Isn't this assumption correct?

That's pretty much it.  There will be issues with texture seams though.  The genital seams can be easily fixed with 3d painting, but since the texture was meant for the vanilla body UV, there will be texture seams along the edges.  It'll take some extensive 3d painting to fix all these seams.

The body textures are missing.  If you imported a preset in RaceMenu, make sure it doesn't have any texture overrides.

what does that even mean??? i don't understand TT
