SAM Light 1.3

   (12 reviews)

About This File

This is a modified version of SAM that removes dependencies on scripts and .esp to allow the genitals to show when fully nude by resizing and placing the genital texture on the body texture layout.  As a result, body morphs are not supported.  It's a basic body replacer along the same lines as Better Males and SOS Light.  Compatible with classic Skyrim and Special Edition.

This mod is not an official release of SAM.  Therefore, if you encounter any issues with it, please do not contact Vector about them.

Difference between full SAM

  • Lightweight due to no scripts or .esp used
  • No body morphs*
  • No dynamic body type and genital adjustments
  • No dynamic body texture options
  • Revealing armor with "SAMRevealing" node not supported
  • Werewolf and Vampire Lord not supported

*morph functionality can be added with SAM Morphs for RaceMenu

Installation

If using a mod manager, just follow the installer.

Manual installation

  • 00 and 01 are required for core functionality.
  • 02 Genital Option - Select between Cut, Uncut, or Underwear (non-nude) version
  • 03 Human Body Texture - Select one body texture for human races
  • 04 Khajiit Body Texture - Select one body texture for Khajiit race

Custom Textures

If you'd like to use your own body textures, use the layout template to resize and align the genital correctly.
Base texture 2k, resize genital texture to 256x256
Base texture 4k, resize genital texture to 512x512
Align genital texture in the green box, create selection mask with the green color, and delete the selection.

Due to genital texture resizing, minor texture seams may be visible.

Regarding Refits

Armor refits are not required for basic functionality.  They're only needed if you use SAM Morphs for RaceMenu and want the morph features.

Credit goes to Vector for the creation of Shape Atlas for Men.

What happens to my hands and feet.
I installed Sam light with SAM light texture addon, but different sizes and skin colors ?

  1. Which version do you use? LE or SE?
  2. Have you installed SAM High Poly Conversion (especially its SE version)?
  3. While naked, does your PC's body texture correspond with other parts of his body like head (i.e. severe neck seam) / hands/ feet?

If your answers to all of these three is 'Yes', then the problem is not SAM Light itself, but the mesh of high poly hide armor refit.

You can find the hotfix in the link below.

If your answer, especially to the question #03, is no, the likeliest cause of your problem is some mods overwrites your hands/ feet meshes.

Hi

I tried several times to install this mod. Until now I failed everytime. :/

Ingame non of the spells seem to work (the spell duration is set to 0!?) except the texture one.

Furthermore my character is displayed blue/purpel. I checked and reinstalled all textures. When scaling in the racemenu the texture sometimes pops up as well when putting on clothes... but as soon as I change something in the racemenu my character becomes invisble (except the head) and soon the game crashes to the desktop.

I am using Oldrim, the newest version of Racemenu aswell as SKSE (Steamversion) UIExtension is installed aswell. Before I used your SAM Light  I used SAM (Original).

I would appreciated any help to fix this!

Is there a way to use the armors/outfits, which orignally made for SAM Original, with SAM Light?

Check Kou's description above.

You can use almost every non-revealing SAM refit also as a refits for SAM Light & SAM morphs for Racemenu,

Gave this a shot in special edition - seemed to work great, no issues, except that there's a super noticeable gap in the khajiit's wrist when casting spells/shooting a bow etc... Doesn't seem to be affecting the other races (I only tried with an orc and nord, but both seemed just fine).  Not totally sure what I've done to mess it up, since I installed it on a clean save, any ideas on how to fix it?  Thanks for all the hard work in setting this up!

Hi. I state I don't know if anyone else posted this issue before me, but I got a problem. If this problem has been already reported I apologize. Then, installing SAM Light, few pages of the editor of Racemenu (I mean the mod) become empty, like the page WEAPONS. Deleting SAM Light, the page returns to be full of selectable options. I repeat that I don't know if this is normal, but I'd love to know how to fix it, and, above all, if it's fixable. I leave an attached pic (also this link) for dimostration. Thanks in advance for any kind of help that you can give me.

Do you use NMM, Vortex as mod manager or no mod manager at all?

The package of SAM light includes a skeleton file with minimum functionality for SAM's body mesh, but it is not enough to draw the full capacity of Racemenu SE as XPMSSE skeleton file (with maximum compatibility, including SAM Light's body mesh) can. In short, what you have to do is to overwrite SAM Light's skeleton file with that of XPMSSE that had been used in your setting before.

If you use MO2, just adjust the load order as (from the first to the last): SAM Light>XPMSSE in the left pane would be enough, but with other mod manager like Vortex you'll probably have to re-install XPMSSE after SAM light again just to overwrite this skeleton file.

NB: If you play Skyrim LE, just replace Racemenu SE as Racemenu, and XPMSSE as XPMSE.

What I loved about original mod was randomizing the body types for the NPCs. Is that something I can do with SAM Light?

Werewolf and Vampire Lord not supported

I just tried the Companions questline and became an invisible werewolf, I guess because of this? What is missing/required to make SAM Light werewolf compatible? Werewolf has it's own body mesh and skeleton, I don't see the incompatibility.. Farkas transformed during that quest and wasn't invisible. I'm willing to do the work myself, but I don't know where to look.

I don't remember turning invisible as a werewolf when I last played the Companions questline.  The original SAM uses a custom mesh and morphs for werewolves and has a script to manage them.  SAM Light doesn't touch werewolves or use any scripts.  Check to make sure you're not using a mod that changes the player NPC record.  There are some that change the player's default body to a custom one.

Ah so that's the reason! I did that myself, giving myself a custom SkinNaked armor/armoraddon (SAM light body with custom textures) so my character would be the only one with my custom tattoos. Would you know how to enable werewolf/vampLord for such an edit? I know it's not SAM Light-related but I'd appreciate a hint.

Your custom SkinNaked armor is probably overriding the default armor used by the werewolf race when transformed.  Try adding the NakedTorsoWerewolfBeast [ARMA:000CDD87] armor-addon to your custom SkinNaked armor.  This should allow the player's werewolf transformation to use a werewolf-race compatible armor-addon.  A similar thing will be needed for Vampire Lord as well (DLC1NakedVampireLord [ARMA:020023F4]).

Heya, I was wondering if there's a way to increase the general size of Male's dicks in any way? Maybe a file where you can replace a number or something? In oldrim it was in the MCM menu but since thats gone I was intrigued if theres a way to do it here as well

I just got this mod and I'm really excited to play with it! I previously used Schlongs of Skyrim, but this has many more costumization options, so that's why I switched.

I am encountering one problem, though; there seems to be a sort of underwear ''overlay'' in the pelvis area on my character. I installed the nude version of S.A.M. Anyone know how I could get rid of this or what might be causing it?

The texture is not compatible with SAM light. Maybe you have some other mod overwriting the textures from this mod or didn't install them at all

Thank you for making this! It makes Skyrim SE actually playable :D

Is it possible to change the Samuel and Sampson values of NPCs? I want them as a whole to be beefier for reasons :D

Thanks!
