About This File

This is a high poly conversion of SAM meshes.  The resulting meshes are smooth and contain around 4x the amount of vertices while still being usable for general gameplay.  It started out as something for my own personal use, but I decided to share it with everyone.  Compatible with SAM and SAM Light for both LE and SE.

High Poly Body Mesh

  • high poly body for both SAM and SAM Light variants
  • underwear was given high poly treatment
  • there are some minor sharp edges on certain poses due to weights
  • if you're on a low end system and worried about performance, stick with the default body mesh

High Poly Genital Mesh new

  • high poly genitals for both SAM and SAM Light
  • smoother edges are noticeable when zoomed in

High Poly Hand Mesh

  • high poly hands for playable human and beast races
  • new mesh is based on the vanilla HandMaleBig mesh
  • optional fingernail mesh to enhance details
  • hand mesh v2 requires manual texture editing for fingernail textures

High Poly Feet Mesh

  • symmetrical feet meshes (original mesh had a smaller right foot)
  • optional toenail mesh to enhance details even further
  • feet mesh v2 requires manual texture editing for toenail textures

High Poly Tail Mesh new

  • high poly tail meshes for Argonian and Khajiit races
  • vertex weights smoothed to look less blocky during movement

Refits

  • full vanilla refits made specifically for high poly SAM
  • minor clipping may occur during movement
  • currently does not include:  briarheart body mesh or USLEEP/USSEP changes

Fingernail/Toenail Mesh Texture

  • v1 mesh uses a separate texture for the fingernails/toenails.  Color won't change, but certain skin tones might make the nails look out of place.
  • v2 mesh requires the fingernail/toenail textures to be on the same texture as the hand/body.  This allows the use of the skin shader to change the color of the nails to match skin tone.  Use the provided texture resources to copy and paste the fingernails into the hand textures and the toenails into the body textures.

Installation

If using a mod manager, just follow the installer.

Manual Installation

  • 00 and 01 - high poly body + genital meshes, select between SAM or SAM Light (cut or uncut)
  • 02 - hand mesh, select between high poly hand with or without fingernail meshes
  • 03 - feet mesh, select between high poly feet with or without toenail meshes
  • 04 - high poly tail meshes for Argonian and Khajiit
  • 05 - refits, each subfolder covers a specific armor part (body, hand, feet), base folder covers all armor that does not include skin

  • mod now split between LE and SE to reduce filesize due to refits
  • added high poly genitals, khajiit tail, and argonian tail
  • added refits for vanilla amulets and missing gloves for beast races (bandit/leather/draugr) used by SAM
  • adjusted mesh order for monk robes (monk/necromancer/warlock/blindmothpriest) to allow texture swaps
  • adjusted vertex weights on high poly body/hands to fix/reduce sharp edges during certain animations
  • updated all refits to include updated high poly body/hands

hotfix (LE):

  • changed genitals from slot 32 to slot 52 to work with full SAM (does not affect SAM Light)

That's a common server issue some users here face when trying to download large files.  There isn't much I can do about it.  I'd often have issues trying to even upload large files.

Could you maybe link it to an alternative download? google docs maybe?

I use free download manager.  Just do a basic google search, its the first link.

No CTD or anything of that sort.  The body shapes are generally the same as the original SAM, but the body mesh itself just won't look consistent.

Me again, I found an issue in LE with the Barkeeper's clothes which resulted in a leg gap. It was caused by an extraneous amulet partition in the .nifs.

I got rid of it & repainted the calves partition, here are the files for anyone interested. Just drag and drop into Data and let it replace the old .nifs (or use NMM). Feel free to use them in the next update of your wonderful mod KouLeifoh. ?

Hi!

Are there any tutorials on how to manually edit the toe nail and finger nail textures for v2?

Also, with the genital hot fix, if Im using MO2 and SAM Light LE. Do I just activate it after SAM High Poly Light LE

Grab the toenail/fingernail texture resources in the download, edit them however you want, and then paste them into your current body/hand textures.

The genital hotfix isn't needed for SAM Light.

Ok random question.  Does the high poly body for SAM Full work for beast races?  I'm asking because I don't see argonian and khajit hands, feet, genitals and 1st person hands.

It should work just fine since they share a lot of the same assets with humans and khajiit/argonian claws are included.  The best test is to strip naked and see if all body parts are visible.

I noticed the genitals disappeared too so I had to disable, and agreed the hotfix isn't really working by default.

EDIT: The hotfix actually does work but you have to keep in mind the load order of your Mod Organizer. Basically you have to force the hotfix to be loaded last and overwrite the genitals included in the high poly mod. The name of the hotfix genital file in Mod Organizer by default is "SAM" which merges it into the SAM meshes, but that gets overridden by the broken high poly genitals which is why the hotfix doesn't work by default.

The solution is to rename the hotfix during installation to something unique like "SAM-High Poly Hotfix" so that it appears as a seperate mod when installed, then make sure it's at the bottom of your load order. Otherwise it is simply "SAM" by default and merges into preexisting SAM file and fails to overwrite the high poly version.

The hotfix is meant to be added on top of the full v1.5 release.  I didn't want people constantly having to download large files for such a small fix.

I just wanted to let you know, that even with your refits for amulets, some still have clipping problems even when weared on naked body, also there is a bug with golden amulet, which is actually a silver amulet. 

Also would you please add collisions for head too, like in female hdt smp based bodies xD Is anus collisions possible? I see that latest XPMSSE has anus bones for both genders.. thx

The amulet weights are still vanilla.  Redoing the weights for it would cause it to clip even more with the vanilla armor.  It's a tedious task to redo the weights, let alone redo it for all armor.  I've resigned myself to leave it as is since I'd rather work on other projects.

      The first part of my series of Class-specific armors.

      This one, loosely based on TES4:Oblivion's Mage class artwork. Big, bold, italicized on the word "loose" considering I just took the...pendant, and color scheme 😅
      But anyway, 20 more armors to come out of this series. 
      Unlike my usual submission, It's a completely new mesh and new cloth armor that I also made it craftable (or use AddItemMenu, whichever you prefer). It's unenchanted so you can infuse any enchantments you want. 
      The ESP is flagged as ESL so it won't take up your load order. 
      Credits to everyone on BoS Discord whose relentless support keeps me going; but especially for @Darnexx & @NeutronSphere who helped me troubleshoot the problematic gloves and boots 😂 Also the bombass screenshot is by the amazing @Darnexx. 
      Installation : 
      Install normally with your preferred mod manager. I personally use MO2. By default, it will install the version with pants. 
      If you want the version with thong instead of pants, load it in BodySlide and tick the thong version and just click build. 
      Permission : 
      I can't make LE version because I no longer have it installed in my PC nor I have the knowledge to do so. If anyone wanted to convert, derive, modify; all I ask is that you share it with other people here also for everyone's benefit 😃
